Piece VI: Deceit
Deceit Many pains are self-inflicted. We all have a past; A past that maybe haunt us, Maybe shames us, Maybe suffocates us, Maybe makes us hate us, We all have a past; A past that hold us back, Holds us captive, Repeats the memories, Forsakes us. But after some time has passed, Maybe months.. Maybe years…. A time comes….. A time comes when staying captive changes from being a consequence to a choice. When that moment finally arises You could either choose to stay there, Or let it stay there but You Choose to move on. How can this be you ask?! Because the past stayed in the past. After you dealt with the ramifications, what was left were the memories that haunt you in your head. Your mind kept on replaying those memories, Maybe because they reek of familiarity. After all, you spent a long time there. They menacingly reek of a false hope which promises contentment, “If only I could change the narrative” A delusive contentment indeed. A Deal, A Void.
