 Deceit

Many pains are self-inflicted. 

We all have a past;

A past that maybe haunt us,
Maybe shames us,
Maybe suffocates us,
Maybe makes us hate us,

We all have a past;
A past that hold us back,
Holds us captive,
Repeats the memories, 

Forsakes us.

But after some time has passed,
Maybe months..
Maybe years….

A time comes…..
A time comes when staying captive changes from being a consequence to a choice.
When that moment finally arises You could either choose to stay there,
Or let it stay there but You Choose to move on.

How can this be you ask?!
Because the past stayed in the past. 

After you dealt with the ramifications, what was left were the memories that haunt you in your head.
Your mind kept on replaying those memories,
Maybe because they reek of familiarity. After all, you spent a long time there.

They menacingly reek of a false hope which promises contentment, “If only I could change the narrative”
A delusive contentment indeed.

A Deal, A Void.
A space only your mind creates to hold you captive while pretending to be a savior that would liberate you.

D.e.c.e.i.t  b.y  y.o.u.r  o.w.n  m.i.n.d.


Blindly,
Blissfully,
Pushing you back into the abyss while pretending to be a helping hand.


Alas what a nightmare,
What a chaos to be trapped into.

Just like strangling yourself with your own hands,
An anguish far too deep to not resent yourself but hands far too weak to actually end yourself.

Your mind; overwhelmed, running millions of renditions of the past memories, trying to mend them.
Trying to “Fix” the lines already written down.
A false control you wish to exert oh dear human.


But you can't mend what now lies in the past,
You can only accept it for what it is once and for all and move on.
