Letter 1

Dear how have you been? I think it was last Autumn that I reached out to you. Now that winter is here everything is covered in snow. I hope you're keeping warm.

It has been a while since I last wrote to you. After my last message, it felt as if my words were drowning into a bottomless pit so I couldn't bring myself to reach out to you anymore. Not that I resent you, but because the sorrow of not being able to reach you made me lose heart. I didn't want us to be reduced to hollows. 

Though now that the frost has settled some, the sorrow has swept in again. I know I won't get to hear from you yet however I hope this will serve as a happy memoir for when we do see each other.

As time leaves behind countless bodies and their stories, many beneath the ground, some still above and indefinite yet to come, I too take a shot at leaving behind my memento in this 'Dunya- دُّنْيَا ' .  I knew people had a desire to leave behind a mark on the world, though I never really understood why.
